Hilo to Kona Tour

This tour starts on the Hilo (east) side of the island and ends at the location of your choice on the Kona side.

Starting in Hilo, this day-long trip will be filled with spectacular scenery that you will only find on the Big Island of Hawaii.

We begin the day with a stop at Volcanoes National Park where you'll see the billowing Kilauea, steam vents, walk thru a lava tube and drive down Chain of Craters Road.  We'll also have an opportunity to explore a 1974 lava flow, away from the crowds, and see some spectacular formations, including lava trees.

Continuing on to Kona, a detour can be made to the Ka'u Coffee Mill in Pahala for samples of some of the finest coffee in Hawaii.  We'll then head to the Punalu'u black sand beach (sea turtles normally can be found on the beach) and then a pit stop at Punalu'u Bake Shop for snacks or lunch.  On to South Point where the adventurous can cliff dive (see picture).   You can even get to the green sand beach via shuttle.  Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau National Park will be one of our stops as well, where you can experience some of the Hawaiian history.  If you would like to see the Captain Cook Monument from across Kealakekua Bay, it's right on our way

What's included:  Entrance fees to Volcanoes National Park and Pu`uhonua O Hōnaunau National Park, bottled water and transportation to some spectacular sights.

Meet up location: We will begin the tour on the Hilo (east) side of Hawaii Island. This includes the Port of Hilo for cruise ship shore excursions, hotels and B&Bs.

End location: We end the tour at the location of your choice on the Kona side of the island.

Duration: 7 - 9 hours.  The duration of this tour is an estimate and can change based on the length of time we spend at each stop. Remember, this is YOUR tour and it is my goal to give you an experience of a lifetime.

***Please note:  if you desire to go to the green sand beach at South Point there will be an additional $15 per person for the beach shuttle paid directly to the shuttle driver.
